About Us

Huntaway Sound is an audio production company run by Auckland based composer - Dylan Storey. Most of the work is done by Dylan but we also have a wide network of specialist composers and musicians for when a project requires a more specific skill set.

Our experience in the field of film/production sound makes us an efficient and cost effective solution for your project.

From corporate videos to film and TV we can create the right sound to enhance the mood desired. We also love to work in the relatively specialised genre of planetarium shows -surround sound, immersive cinema environments which favour a version of the documentary style of production to inform and entertain.

Recent Projects:

Cell Cell Cell (currently working on). - A planetarium show mixing science and entertainment, aimed at young adults and focussing on cellular biology. We have written a title track with lyrics pertaining to the subject matter and an up-beat tempo to set the mood of the show. We are also working on an instrumental section for the action scene.
Cell Cell Cell is due to be released to planetariums worldwide in April 2012.Samples coming soon....

Tilt - A 28 minute planetarium show for children about the seasons. We have done all the music and some SFX. The brief for Tilt involved many different musical styles for the many scenes of the show, ranging from earthy/folky/acoustic to orchestral/spacey to action/rock with a quirky theme required to enhance characterisation. 5.1 surround sound elements were incorporated into the music and SFX to enhance the 'immersed' feel of this style of production.
The music for Tilt has been receiving rave reviews. Samples coming soon....
